Description

The B1000 comprises of two units, a handset to measure the breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) and a Vehicle Blocking System (VBS) that serves as an immobilizer. Before starting the engine / motor, the driver is prompted to provide a breath sample. Should the BrAC in the sample provided be above the legal or pre-set limit, the driver / operator is notified of
test sample failure, the vehicle ignition is inhibited, and the result relayed via a managed network to a control centre.

The B1000 is configurable to request repeat and random samples while the vehicle is in motion to test for alcohol consumption while driving.
In this instance, on test failure, the vehicle will be immobilized once it has come to a complete stop and the ignition turned off.
